„Im Rausch sein“ beschreibt einen Zustand des Kontrollverlusts, in dem wir uns körperlich und geistig etwas hingeben, das uns die engen Grenzen unseres Ichs überschreiten lässt. Für einen bestimmten Moment lassen wir los und überlassen uns, öffnen unsere Sinne und spüren, wie sich unser Gefühl für Raum und Zeit verändert. Rausch oder Ekstase führen laut dem Philosophen Arnold Gehlen „zu einer als beglückend empfundenen Befreiung und Entlastung des Menschen von sich“*. Es scheint ein ursprüngliches Bedürfnis nach diesen Momenten der Entlastung zu geben, schon seit jeher, aber nochmal in besonderem Maße in unserer auf stetige Produktivität und Leistungsbereitschaft getrimmte moderne Gesellschaft.

Sechs Videoarbeiten sind über die gesamte Laufzeit von RAUSCH I im Theatergarten zu sehen.

“Being intoxicated” describes a state of loss of control in which we physically and mentally surrender to something that allows us to transcend the narrow boundaries of our ego. For a moment, we let go and abandon ourselves, opening our senses and feeling our sense of space and time change. According to philosopher Arnold Gehlen, intoxication or ecstasy leads “to a liberation and relief from oneself that is perceived as blissful.”* There seems to be a primal need for these moments of relief, which has always existed, but is particularly pronounced in our modern society, which is geared toward constant productivity and performance. 

Six video works will be on display in the theater garden throughout the entire duration of RAUSCH I.
