Regards Sensibles

Regards Sensibles - Video Works from the Lemaître collection

at macLYON, Lyon / France

6.3.-12.7.2026

For this exhibition I had the honour to work with the outstanding video art collection of Isabelle & Jean-Conrad Lemaître, comprising 170 video works by international artists from the mid 90s to today. The exhibition Regards Sensibles accompanies the donation of the collection to the macLYON.

With the selection of 29 art works by international artists like among others, Ulla von Brandenburg, Clément Cogitore, Keren Cytter, Sofia Hultén, Hayoun Kwon, Sigalit Landau, Christian Marclay, Walid Raad, Gillian Wearing I followed the historical paths of the collection as much as I let myself guide by the very personal and intuitive character of the body of works. It’s a body of gestures and sensitive observations, of performative transformation and conflicting emotional states. It’s a body that invites us to an empathetic gaze on the injuries, insecurities, and disruptions, but also on the moments of strength and resilience expressed in the works in reaction to an unstable world.

The exhibition parcours unfolds along three related chapters: Exchange of Gazes, Tangible Pain and Gestures of Resilience and is conceived as an invitation to open oneself up to a vulnerable touch by the stories which unfold in the works.

I'm very thankful that I was able to once again collaborate with Ruth Lorenz Studio for the exhibition architecture and to develop a scenography which creates a sensitive environment for the works and visitors alike.
